Warranty Basics
A car warranty equals peace of mind. Over a predetermined length of time, if something on your vehicle stops working like it should because of a manufacturing flaw, the warranty pays the cost of any required repairs at our GMC service center. Depending on where the problem occurs, you'll be covered by either the powertrain warranty or the bumper-to-bumper warranty. The powertrain warranty covers the engine, transmission, and drivetrain, while the bumper-to-bumper warranty covers everything else.
Analyzing the New GMC Warranty
Every GMC vehicle at our Waterford, MI GMC dealership represents the finest in automotive design and engineering, which we term "Professional Grade". This same quality is also intrinsic to the GMC brand's warranty.
Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty
This warranty covers the entire vehicle for repairs, including parts and labor, to correct any defect in materials and/or workmanship for three years/36,000 miles. It also includes towing to your nearest authorized GMC dealership for warranty repairs. Not included in this warranty are things such as routine maintenance and damage due to accident or insufficient maintenance.
Corrosion and Rust Protection
The GMC new-vehicle warranty also includes corrosion protection and rust-through protection. The corrosion coverage period extends three years/36,000 miles, while rust-through protection lasts six years/100,000 miles.
Powertrain Limited Warranty
Three core areas are covered by this five-year/60,000-mile warranty: the engine, the transmission, and the drivetrain. Any repairs and parts/labor required to correct defects in these areas are covered by this warranty. Meanwhile, components not covered are things considered as "normal wear and tear" items - in other words, parts such as hoses, connectors, and wiring.
