The 2026 GMC Terrain: Redesigned in 2025, Two New Trims for ‘26

Power and Performance

When paired with front-wheel drive (FWD), this engine achieves 175 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. With all-wheel drive (AWD), torque output increases to 203 lb-ft. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard with both configurations.
The two new additions, the 2026 GMC Terrain Denali and 2026 GMC Terrain AT4, get AWD standard. The AT4 trim also equips several off-road-focused upgrades, including a front skid plate with steel underbody shield, an off-road-tuned suspension, and an exclusive Terrain driving mode for low-speed crawling.
Towing and Cargo
In FWD form, this new GMC SUV can tow up to 800lbs. The AWD-equipped trims come standard with a Trailering package that increases towing capacity to 1,500lbs. In terms of cargo, every trim offers 63.50 cubic feet of space with the second row down, and 29.80 cu. ft. with the second row up. You'll also love this model's additional storage enhancements, which include 60/40 split-folding rear seats, a center console with passthrough storage, and an underfloor cargo compartment.
Infotainment
Infotainment-wise, all trims come well equipped. Front and center is a 15-inch diagonal Premium GMC Infotainment System® touchscreen that features Google Built-in™ apps and a navigation system powered by Google Maps™. Onboard Wi-Fi® access and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also standard, and the 2026 GMC Terrain AT4 and 2026 GMC Terrain Denali also feature wireless smartphone charging.
