If you are looking for a full-sized truck to tow your trailer on family trips, choosing one with great towing capacity and advanced trailering technology from our new inventory will give you peace of mind. Here at Lunghamer Buick GMC in Waterford, we have the GMC Sierra 1500, a truck that fills the bill for our customers who like to tow big trailers.

GMC Sierra 1500: Trailering Technology and Towing

Based on your engine choice, you can tow up to 13,300 pounds with the new GMC Sierra 1500. The hauling capacity is up to 2,240 pounds. The cargo bed also has a huge volume capacity for your Highland DIY projects. Not all full-sized trucks can claim that their bed volume is large. An available multi-function tailgate makes loading the cargo bed easier.

The Sierra 1500’s towing technology shines, providing many features that can make towing much less stressful and dangerous. Advanced towing technology features include available trailering camera views such as a bed view with hitch guidance, a rear and side trailer view, and one inside the trailer.

Other available trailer tools include a trailering app to store trailer profiles and maintenance reminders. You can also make a departure checklist or use the standard checklist in the app.

GMC Sierra 1500: Performance

The GMC Sierra 1500 has four engine choices. Each one is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. You can opt for a 310-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8, a 305-horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel, or a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine. Both the turbodiesel and the 6.2-liter V8 can tow over 13,000 pounds.

The turbocharged four-cylinder engine can tow up to 9,500 pounds. Available traction modes - such as tow/haul, terrain, off-road, and a performance mode - help you dial in traction and stability for safety and high performance around Clarkston and beyond.

GMC Sierra 1500: Interior/Exterior

The GMC Sierra 1500 makes its presence known with its massive grill. You can get the Sierra 1500 in a crew cab, a double cab, and a regular cab that seats up to three. Bed lengths go from just over five feet to just over seven feet in length, depending upon the needs of your Lake Orion lifestyle.

The Sierra 1500 is roomy inside, with plenty of head and legroom. You can opt for available heated and ventilated seating and leather upholstery. Interior storage areas abound.

GMC Sierra 1500: Off-Road Trims and Features

The GMC Sierra 1500 has two trim models with enhanced off-road features. There is an AT4 and AT4X trim model. The former has a two-inch lift over the other Sierra 1500 models, off-road suspension, monotube shocks, a two-speed transfer case, automatic locking rear differentials, and skid plates.

The AT4X’s advanced features were designed by a leader in the off-road aftermarket industry, AEV. They added Multimatic DSSV dampers and front and rear electronic locking differentials, among other features, to the AT4X.

GMC Sierra 1500: Technology

The GMC Sierra 1500 has over 40 inches of available digital real estate between the digital instrument panel and the infotainment touchscreen. The touchscreen has Google Built-in available. Available SuperCruise advanced hands-free driving technology can be used on over 400,000 miles of highways in the US and Canada.

There is also an available heads-up display to help you stay focused on the road as you receive navigation instructions. In addition to the trailer above camera views, there are up to 14 camera views that cover the entire 360-degree view around your Sierra 1500.
